Fishing Derby pond partially drained for storm water project
The Duck Pond at North Lake Park has been drastically lowered in preparation for new storm water pipes running under 29 th Street, but Loveland Parks and Recreation is hoping to have it refilled before the 2017 Loveland Police Kids Fishing Derby. David Bothel, Loveland Parks and Public Ground Supervisor, said the pond still has more than 12 feet of water at its deepest point, and the release of water “was over a period of time through a smaller drain in the bottom of the overflow tower to help minimize fish loss.”
