Pamela Sue Rud, Daughter of Harvey and Marjorie Purman, passes away

Pamela Sue Rud, daughter of Harvey and Marjorie Purman, passed away Monday, May 20, 2024, after a long-fought battle with mesothelioma. Arrangements are being made by Allnutt Funeral Service in Ft. Collins. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Boys and Girls Club in Ft. Collins on Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 1:00-4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the positive youth development program or organization in your area. A link to her complete obituary can be found  here.   

Elkhorn Fly Shop, long-time friend of the club, is closing its Loveland site

 The shop will close in July but plans to continue to offer guided trips and offer its Elkhorn Fly Rods by way of its website. A Customer Appreciation Sale began Friday, May 24. We wish the owners best of luck for future success.    We want to share an update with our incredible and loyal customers about the upcoming changes to Elkhorn Fly Shop’s business operations. We are proud to have been part of the legacy Elkhorn Fly Rods, which have had a long history of being a fantastic product offered for a reasonable price, rooted here in the community of Loveland, Colorado.   While this decision did not come easily, we wanted to let you know our biggest change, and what you can still expect from us at Elkhorn. County seeks input on management plan for Chimney Hollow Open Space

LOVELAND – Larimer County Department of Natural Resources (LCDNR) is seeking public input for the management plan of Chimney Hollow Open Space (CHOS). Public input will be collected throughout this summer via an online survey as well at the  first public open house   on   Wednesday, May 29   followed by a virtual open house on Monday, June 3. Information collected from the community will help guide future management of the new open space by helping understand the public’s desired nature-based land and water recreation experiences at CHOS while protecting and enhancing ecological resources. The public open house will be held Wednesday, May 29 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Natural Resources Administrative Office, 1800 S. CR 31, Loveland. The open house will offer community members the opportunity to meet planning staff and learn more about the future open space.   The 2024 version of the Loveland Kids Fishing Derby is almost upon us. Be at the North Lake Duck Pond by around 7:30 a.m. If you've not yet signed up to volunteer, just show up then to get an assignment, or contact  Bob McHale,  DerbyChair  or 970-690-0227.  The derby, free and open to all youngsters up to age 15, begins at 8 a.m. and runs until 2 p.m. The pond will be full of catchable-size trout stocked by Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
