Loveland Fishing Club Past President Tom Miller has shattered the state record for the Colorado Squawfish, while fishing the legendary Boulder Flatiron Lake.
Taken while trolling last week, the 28-inch, Colorado Master Angler fish is endangered in Colorado, and was believed extinct along the Front Range.
Both Tom and Sheila reported the fish was a bit rubbery, but quite tasty, along with a few French fries and a hefty dollop of catsup.

Aw, to be totally honest, in the spirit of April Fool's Day, Tom really DIDN'T catch a state record squawfish at Boulder Flatiron Lake. There really aren't any squawfish in this part of Colorado, and the city of Boulder usually sits where Tom is standing with his prize.

I know, I know: It's a sad day when you can't even trust the Loveland Fishing Club's esteemed Founding Father, or Sweet Sheila for that matter. But that's the world we inhabit in Election Year 2024..
Meanwhile, it's time to start submitting entries in this year's Club Angler of the Year Contest. Jim Roode is insisting on either a clear photo showing the fish being measured, or witness of the catch by a trustworthy member of the Loveland Fishing Club. Bill
